The Countywide Art Show took place Saturday, April 24 at Battlefield High School. Thanks to the students and parents who came out.  The students at Mullen are doing great work in art.  There were many positive comments from people walking by. For those who could not make it, I have included pictures.

The 5th grade art club students are sewing their pages together for the books. We have created cover art as well.  The last day for Art Club is June 2.

There is a chart outside the art room letting students know when they have a messy art day.  On those days they should not wear brand new clothes.  I have art shirts for them to wear over their clothes but save the fancy clothes for another day.  We use baby wipes for clean up in the art room.  If you would like to donate a box of baby wipes have your child bring them to the art room.  Thank you in advance for supporting the arts.

Encourage your child to draw or color whenever they can.

First grade students are pretending they are bugs "In the Tall, Tall Grass". We are stamping bugs and drawing the grass.

Second Grade
We are learning about animals and their shapes and colors.  Students are creating animals from paper and putting them in their habitats.

Third Grade
Third graders are learning how to draw bodies in motion while studying the art of Andy Warhol. The final project in this lesson will be to create a person out of clay and paint it.

Fourth Grade
Fourth graders are combining math and art by creating yarn weavings that show radial symmetry.
